Steel Shop Cutter

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Steel Shop Cutter to join our structural steel fabrication team. This position involves cutting, punching, and preparing steel components used in our innovative building systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings, and takes pride in their quality and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Cut and punch structural steel parts to specifications
- Operate shop equipment including forklifts, band saws, punches, iron workers, press brakes, and drill presses
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Load and unload semi-trucks
- General shop maintenance and outside yard cleanliness
- Maintain safe and organized work practices
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in steel fabrication (band saw, shear, iron worker)
- Proficiency with shop tools (tape measure, square, wrenches, scribe)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings
- Strong attention to detail and safety standards
